accepts the following forms of payment for its services:
Pre-payment or payment at
the door is appreciated, BUT IS NOT REQUIRED.

CUTTING
EDGE TRAINING
will invoice your agency at your convenience, either prior to, or
following the course presentation.
Cancellation Policy:
Tuition will be refunded for
cancellations more than fourteen (14) days prior to the seminar start
date. Cancellations after that date, and prior to the class
start date, will receive 80% of the tution toward future Cutting Edge
Training classes, attended within one (1) year of cancellation.
As we frequently have waiting lists, it is important to contact us
immediately if you intend to cancel.
NO-SHOWS:
Payment is required for all no-show applicants, and no
refunds are available. Officers and/or agencies will be invoiced
for no-shows if not pre-paid.
The most
common methods by which
CUTTING
EDGE TRAINING serves
agencies and their officers are:
Secured Hosting
"Secured Hosting" guarantees your personnel will receive the
world-class professional training they need to excel at their duties.
Your agency pays our training fees, which include all travel and per
diem for instructors and staff, for an agreed upon number of your personnel for a set
number of hours per class.
Our
Secured Hosting Program allows you to provide training to your entire
agency. This is the best method to have each of your personnel
trained to the same high professional standards. With this program, we can review and
amend our training curriculum to reflect agency specific policies.
While our training curriculum always reflects federal and your state
law, this program allows the precise concerns of your agency to be
discussed and trained.
Secured
Hosting Option:
Many agencies hesitate to
commit their limited training budget to a sole-sponsorship of a
seminar. One option is for the agency to secure the class,
guaranteeing the that the class will be held. The seminar is now
opened up to other officers and agencies in the region for a fee.
The total amount of the tuitions collected will be deducted from the
host agency's final tuition. As a service to our host agency:

Cutting Edge Training will
act as registrar for all outside applicants to the class.

Cutting Edge Training will
invoice and collect all tuitions from each applicant or agency.

Bill the host agency only
for the final tuition amount.
Hosted
Training
Our
"Hosting
Program" allows you to provide expert professional training
to officers in your agency without committing to the cost of an entire
course. This is a very popular training option for many of our
programs. The hosting program provides your agency with
tuition-waivers based upon the number of tuition-paying students who
attend the seminar. The more tuition-paying participants in
attendance, the more tuition-waivers we provide to you.
These tuition-waivers are only available after the minimum number of
participants have been attained.
The
hosting agreement provides for the course to be conducted once an
agreed upon number of participants are registered for the class.
Should the class fail to fill as desired and the course is canceled,
the Host Agency incurs no expense or penalty. Therefore, an agency
can only benefit from free and discounted training with no financial
risk.
Cutting
Edge Training provides its instructors with compensation, travel and
per diem through the collection of tuitions. Cutting Edge Training also provides all instructional
materials for the course, unless agreed upon otherwise.
Hosting a Class is Easy!
Hosting a class by Cutting Edge Training, L.L.C.,
is a great way to get key members of your agency trained in the most
cutting edge training courses available to law enforcement—at little
or no impact to your training budget! With just a little effort, the
class can be very successful. This information sheet is designed to
answer your questions regarding the "hosting" process.
Question: How does hosting a course work?
Hosting works through a cooperative advertising
effort between your agency and Cutting Edge Training. The success of
the course depends upon as many agencies and officers hearing about it
as possible. Successful agency advertising in the past has taken the
form of:
- Weekly
teletyping, notifying all agencies in your region
(including adjoining states) of the course, beginning three (3)
months prior to the course start date.
- Flyer mailouts.
- Information dissemination at training manager or
Chiefs’/Sheriffs’ meetings.
Question: What facilities do we have to provide as
the "host agency?"
The host agency is expected to provide the
following:
- Equipped classroom (TV/VCR, flip chart/white board--we provide
the PowerPoint projector and program), mat room, and/or live fire
range facilities, depending upon the course.
- On live fire training courses, targets and instructional
ammunition.
Question: What does Cutting
Edge Training provide?
Cutting Edge Training provides, at the minimum:
- World-class instructional staff.
- Registrar and administrative staff on-site.
- Invoices on request, and we handle all monies and tuitions for
the course.
- Travel and per diem for all Cutting Edge Training staff members.
- Bound, professional workbooks.
- Quality certificates for each participant upon successful course
completion.
- In "Tactical Folding Knife" courses, a Benchmade Knife Co.
"training knife."
Question: How do applicants register for a course?
We prefer to handle the registration for each course. This
relieves you of this headache, and it allows us to monitor the class
fill. Registration for all applicants is fairly simple. We
prefer they apply online at
www.cuttingedgetraining.org/apply.htm, or they may phone in their
registration at 360.671.2007.
Question: What do we get for
hosting a course?
In addition to the best training possible for your
officers, Cutting Edge Training offers:
- Tuition-waivers to your agency based on class attendance (as
more attend the course, we offer more free training slots for your
officers).
- 5% discount for each member of your agency attending in excess
of your tuition-waivers.
Question: Who collects the tuition?
Most agencies and training managers prefer to have
Cutting Edge Training handle the financial aspects of hosted training.
Our administrative staff members will handle all of the invoicing and
the collecting and tracking of purchase orders, checks, and pay
warrants.
Question: What if the course
doesn’t fill…are we liable for any penalties or costs?
In the rare event that a course fails to meet the
minimum attendance requirements, Cutting Edge Training reserves the
right to cancel or, if agreed upon, to postpone any training course
without penalty. Up to 30 days prior to the course, the host-agency
may cancel with no penalty or costs. If the agency cancels within 30
days of the course, you agree to reimburse Cutting Edge Training for
any airline tickets purchased to travel for the course, and/or for the
cost of workbooks printed for the class. If these costs have not
been incurred, or if the tickets/expenses are refundable or
transferable, your agency is not liable.
Question: What information does Cutting Edge
Training need from you?
The key to successful hosted training is
communication!
- Do you need teletype information or a professional flyer for
reproduction?
- How many from your agency are you expecting to attend the
course?
- What do we need to know about the training site (address and
directions from major highways/airports)?
- Many (including our training and admin staff) will require a
hotel within easy walking or driving distance from the training site
(the suggested hotels should ideally be mid-level priced, with
quality accommodations and should include name of the hotel,
address, and phone number, government room rates, directions from
major highways/airports, directions from the hotel(s) to the
training site).
We will send you a hosting information form that gives you all of
the information you need, including a form for you to fill out that
gives us all of the information we need to give the participants.
