Extracting Resisting Offenders
From Commercial Aircraft

Practical...Tactical...Realistic...Defensible!

Focus:  All commissioned/sworn/reserve officers of any rank, targeted to Port and Airport Police

Length:  8 hours

If you are an officer assigned to an airport, you understand the need to have training in how to reasonably and effectively remove and extract an uncooperative, resistive, and possibly assaultive passenger from a commercial aircraft in order to secure their arrest.  Cutting Edge Training, LLC, provides the only course of its type in assisting officers to safely take a resisting passenger into custody with as little disruption to other passengers, air crew, and flight operations as possible, while limiting and mitigating liability exposure.

The course contents are:

  • Constitutional Limitations in the Police Use of Force.
  • CFR’s and the Laws Involving Flight Operations.
  • Effective Combatives Problem-Solving.
  • Coordinating with Flight Crews and Airline Needs.
  • Physical Control of Suspect Theories.
  • Extraction of the Offender from the Commercial Aircraft.
  • Limiting the Liability of the Officer, Department, and Airline

This course is a well-thought out, comprehensive course that gives each officer the ability to communicate with the air crews, coordinate with each other, and to tactically remove the offender through a reasonable force response.  Additionally, the latest in civil liability practices are suggested.

Site and Equipment Requirements:

  • Empty and idle commercial aircraft.

  • Classroom.

  • Mat room.
