Plaintiffs have changed how they are attacking your officers in civil
court. These legal professionals (some of whom do nothing else
but specialize in suing officers and their agencies) are organized,
prepared, and smart. They have been coached by former police
officers in the weaknesses in police training and standards, and they
use this knowledge to competently attack officers in court who, first, achieved
proper conduct in the field but were later unable to prove it was
proper in front of a jury. This course assists your officers in:
-
Achieving proper conduct in the force response through increased
knowledge of the laws of force (both federal and your state law)
and their ability to articulate their proper actions,
and
-
Proving that proper conduct through the reporting and documentation of
their actions.
The Force
Response Civil Liability Prevention course provides every officer with the
means of understanding the limits of force, and to articulate their
actions to a degree most have never
experience--we understand that sometimes, officers are forced to
respond to resisting or aggressing offenders, and should not be penalized for the proper
force response. We give them the training that allows them to confidently explain their
reasonable force
employment in the field. This course provides
comprehensive report standards and suggestions that are presented in
an interesting, often humorous, and ultimately useful manner that really does effect change in the
reporting habits of officers. Your officers' proper conduct in the field means
almost nothing if there is no ability to prove that proper conduct.
This course provides your officers with the tools for doing just that,
first achieving, and then proving proper conduct.
This
course was developed with the input and assistance of the top police
civil defense attorneys and police risk managers in the nation--these
are dedicated professionals
who work full-time to defend your and your officers in federal courts against
allegations of constitutional misconduct by officers.

This is a nuts-and-bolts class that avoids high-flown legal theories that are difficult
to translate into action in the field when you really need to.
Instead, this class gives
you reasonable and instantly applicable methods of protecting your
name, your financial assets, and your
agency
after you did the job right.
“’A must’ for anyone in a fully
commissioned position. Trainers need this info to fill in huge gaps in
report writing, ethics, DT classes, and mock scenes. ‘A class operation
from start to finish.’ Well done!”
Deputy M. Behm, King County Sheriff’s Office, WA.
"A very worthwhile class. The instructor more than met my
expectations. He was on-time, well-dressed, serious and
knowledgeable. Few instructors are respectful of my time. If I
am going to give you a day of my time, I want to be taught something
useful (not just jaw-jacked and sent home early). I think you used
my time exceptionally well!"
